Hello.

 

My name is Suneen and I am the artist behind Muddy Bird Pottery.  As a young person I took ceramic courses in school, falling in love with the clay immediately, however I did not begin my serious journey until moving to our beloved country property in Eastern Connecticut. This is where I often find the inspiration behind my ceramic collections.

As a long-time artist with a background in watercolor and acrylic painting, I often feel inspired to meld my love of painting with my love of clay. Sgraffito (a fancy Italian word that means "scratched) has become a meditative and fulfilling part of my process for each piece, carving the surface with care and intention, allowing the work to develop thoughtfully from start to finish. It is a true honor to be able to share what I do with others.
